Saint Peregrine is considered the patron saint of seriously ill people, especially those suffering from neoplastic diseases. When he himself became seriously ill and his leg was in danger of being amputated, he prayed fervently for healing. He had a dream the night before surgery. He dreamed that Jesus came down from the cross and healed his sick leg by touching him. After waking up, there was no trace of the wound. At that moment, crowds began to come to him. Healings were accompanied by prayers through his intercession.
"Saint Peregrine, you set an example for us to follow, because as a Christian you were devoted to love, as a penitent you humbly acknowledged your sin, suffered it - you endured suffering with patience. Intercede for us with Heavenly Father so that, like you, devoted, humble and patient, we may receive the grace we ask for from Jesus Christ. Amen"
